My career started with Sainsburys but has mostly been with Asda where I worked as a Department Manager and in the training team as a People Development Manager, clocking up 13 years for Asda all together. In 2002 I had the opportunity to become head of training and development for Wal-Mart Canada, so spent 18 months based in Toronto with the family. I am currently People Development Manager for a major construction company, where I look after training and development across the company.
Wyonnie and I got married in 2000 - every day I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful companion in my life.
I was first elected to the Council in 1998, when I won a by-election in Spital Ward and became the only Conservative on the Council. The following year I was joined by Ron Cook - one of the most astute and talented people involved in Tamworth politics - and together we became the official opposition to the huge Labour majority....
